A Dental Implant mimics a natural tooth root, used in dentistry to support crowns and bridges that replace a tooth or a group of teeth. It is a titanium screw like structure, anchored into the jawbones, functioning similar to a natural tooth. It can be placed in areas where natural teeth are either lost due to decay or trauma or when a tooth cannot be saved and has to be extracted.
Mimicking the performance of a missing tooth root, implants are surgically placed into the site of tooth loss forming a solid foundation for prosthetic tooth replacements.
Being one of the most important advances in dental technology till date, dental implants have amplified the results that restorative dentists can achieve dramatically.
BENEFITS
Dental implants have a very high success rate of 90-95% in healthy adults.
Imitate the feel, shape and function of your missing tooth better than any other restorative treatment so far.
Suitable for cases of missing single, multiple or even all the teeth.
Provide seamless and aesthetically pleasing long-term results.
PROCESS INVOLVED
During the initial consultation, our team will assess the condition of your gums, any remaining teeth and the remaining underlying jawbone.
If any gum disease or tooth decay is present, these will first have to be taken care of prior to the surgery.
Once the mouth is disease free, a treatment plan is formulated.
Dental Implants have two main treatment phases. Firstly, the Implant is placed into the jawbone. Secondly, a tooth-like crown is placed on the Dental Implant.
These two stages have been traditionally performed with between 3-6 months of healing in-between. If applicable, the two steps are now completed simultaneously.
